Parking fines for one year hit 1/4 Million

To prove that the city use the meanies as cash cows for the Council's pockets, the article appearing in tonights Evening News, yet again, shows that the Council is lying to us:

The income generated [in Edinburgh - population 448,624] by the charges rose from £7.1 million during the previous year to £7.3m in 2004, including £326,000 from vehicle removals.

At the same time, Glasgow's [population 674,820] notices fell by more than ten per cent, from 267,000 to 231,232, while revenue from the tariffs reached £6.5m.

"Bumbling Andy" Burns, (who lost the miniscule reputation he had when for the first time he asked his electorate for their opinion and he was severly hammered at the referendum) once again lies in the article by saying "The parking attendants do not receive any incentive for issuing more tickets. Parking tickets are only issued when people park illegally." Of course, he failed to answer the question. At least it wasn't another of his lies. What he did not mention was that if the Parking Attendant do not meet quotas, they get fired.
